1 Reason Your Marketing Isn't Working

There is a big difference between hunters and farmers.

Hunters lust the quick kill. With shotgun in hand, they prowl the fields for prey. But success isn’t always a given.

Farmers, however, work and wait. With seeds in hand, they prep and nurture the fields. In time, they reap a wildly successful harvest.

Hunting (cold calls, desperate discounts, pestering people) will frustrate you and others. And it may be the reason your marketing isn’t working.

While a few might see your ad and react immediately, the great majority WILL NOT.

Research shows the average reactions*:

  • 30% will not take your offer even if it is free

  • 30% are not interested

  • 30% are interested, but not right now

  • 7% are very open to buying

  • 3% are ready to buy

Now consider farming:

  • Brussels sprouts take 140–155 days from seed to harvest

  • Garlic takes 5–7 months

  • Asparagus takes 1–3 years from crowns, and up to 6+ years from seed

Like planting, successful marketing often takes time. So lay down the gun. You’re in this for the long haul.

Use the germination season wisely:

Blog. Email. Podcast. Post. Video. Nurture. Educate. Inspire.

They’ll be a day when all those efforts come to bear.

In the end, seeds are better than bullets.
