A few days ago, I received mail from my medical provider.
Opening the envelope, I found a birthday card. Well, that’s thoughtful.
It greeted me with this message:
Then I turned it over and saw this:
What in the what?
Colonoscopy?!
Why are these deranged people offering to do vile things to me in the name of my birthday?
I know they’re trying to be helpful but talk about mixed messages.
Which brings me to my point:
In your marketing, especially your website, are you sending mixed messages to potential customers?
Common website issues:
Saying you’re professional but pictures are grainy and words are misspelled
Not explaining what you do in the simplest way
Forgetting to show customers what they need to do first
Making it difficult to find online payment options
Thankfully, some websites DO get it right. Here are a few we’ve recently created:
Greater Williamsburg Business Council
(Williamsburg, VA)
Retirement Systems Solutions
(Virginia Beach, VA)
Allonge' Dance Academy & Pilates Studio
(Suffolk, VA)
These sites are built to convert with:
High-quality photos
Conversation-based copywriting
Call to actions
Social proofing (reviews and testimonials)
Is your website built to convert? If not, let’s talk.
We specialize in helping small businesses generate more leads and sales.
We also make the process enjoyable — the same can’t be said of a colonoscopy!
By the way, I applaud the medical professionals who remind us about preventive care. #scheduleacolonoscopy
